New shoes + first run in 10 weeks

Lets start over

So since I started this blog it has been more a documentation of my injuries rather than documentation of daily fitness and eats. It’s been a long summer. Well this week I went back to the orthopedic surgeon and he gave my the go ahead to run AND wear heels again (yay!). He said there was not really anything I could do to mess it up. I really think he may have jinxed my by saying that but we’ll see. I ran for the first time in 10 weeks Wednesday. I decided to take it slow. I’m starting at week 4 of the couch to 5k plan since that is how I started running in the first place 3 years ago. I tend to want to do too much too fast and even though “there is not much I can do to mess it up” I really think this would be better than jumping back into running 5 miles.

I signed up for the Liz Hurley Ribbon Run 5k on October 15th. I will be running with the girls from Pure Barre (which I also started back this week—one word: ouch!). This is such a great time for races. Perfect fall weather.

Fingers crossed…no more injuries!!!

Salutation Nation in Birmingham. First time doing yoga outside. It was awesome.

Heirloom tomato and homemade whole wheat sandwich = best summer time lunch.

Just spent 40 minutes on the bike now getting ready for body pump. Take that ankle! Let’s hope I can walk tomorrow.

Almond butter in the making. By the time my ankle heals I may have an entire line of nut butters :) I’m thinking this might just be an idea for x-mas gifts!!
